There are plenty of narrowboat hire companies throughout England and Wales offering shorter term holiday hire for short breaks through to a week or a fortnight. If you wish to really enjoy the waterways and soak up their unique atmosphere, you need to hire for at least a month so that you can dial down the pressure, go as you please, and discover the many beautiful moorings, towns and villages through which our waterways weave their special way.

Our wide-beam barge - Merryweather - is hired by the month with a minimum of one month and monthly increments thereafter. She has a king size master cabin, spacious bathroom, and huge living area with leather settee, real solid fuel stove, full 240V power, and a superb granite-topped galley. Just so as we all get off on the right footing please note that we do not hire to solo/single boaters – there must be two adults aboard whilst cruising. Nor do we hire the boats for use as a static liveaboard in a localised area: the boat must be seen to be properly continuously cruising.
